PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding door capable of securing a sufficient opening by means of a simple constitution when it is opened and enabling the further smooth opening and closing operation of the sliding door in a so called flat door. SOLUTION: The sliding door includes sliding doors 2 and 3 closing predetermined openings projected to sides of both right and left ends of an upper side and a lower side by a slide guide member, linear horizontal slide grooves 10 formed at the upper part and the lower part of the opening and arranged with vertical slide inclined grooves 11, 12, 13 and 14 and switching points 4a and 4b arranged in a joint section between at least the horizontal slide groove 10 on the central side and the vertical inclined grooves 13 and 14. In the sliding door flush with with the sliding doors guided to the vertical slide inclined grooves by the slide guide member in the case that the sliding doors 2 and 3 are closed and overlapped in a double sliding state in the case of opening, at least the slide guide member on the lower side of the sliding doors 2 and 3 is provided in a state to have a variable horizontal angle by supporting shafts to make a caster 8 equipped with a wheel traveling on each slide groove as the sliding door 1.
