PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester fiber for reinforcing a rubber, forming a very small amount of attachment on a spinneret even after long-time continuous spinning through the spinneret, capable of reducing unevenness in attachment of an adhesive, and having a small amount of fluff; and to provide a dipped cord obtained by using the polyester fiber. SOLUTION: The polyester fiber for reinforcing the rubber is composed of a polyester polymer. The polyester polymer is obtained by carrying out polymerization by using a precipitate obtained by heating a specific titanium compound with a specified phosphorus compound in glycol as a catalyst.
