PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermoplastic resin composition exhibiting high far-infrared radiation effects and a molded product. SOLUTION: Conventional far-infrared radiation materials usually comprise tourmaline which is a natural mineral, or a ceramic containing silica, alumina, titania, zirconia or the like. These materials have a radiation efficiency of at most around 82-83% in spite of various ideas for increasing the efficiency, and few of them maintain a high radiation rate all the time. Moreover, many exhibit a low radiation rate within a specific wavelength range. The thermoplastic resin composition comprises olivine basalt that radiates far-infrared rays with high efficiency and is available at a low cost. The molded product is obtained using the thermoplastic resin composition. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
