PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device for improving workability and safety at rescue work without overlapping a rescue port and a speed regulator rope even when inevitably arranging the rescue port and a speed regulator on a side surface of the same side as an elevator car in an elevator having the rescue port on the side surface of the elevator car. SOLUTION: The speed regulator 11 has an upper sheave 12 in a machine room 10, and is constituted so that the rescue port 5 of the elevator car 3 lifting in a hoistway 1 and the speed regulator rope 14 do not overlap by displacing the speed regulator rope 14 suspended from the upper sheave 12 in the horizontal direction by an upper deflector wheel 16 and a lower deflector wheel 17 by respectively arranging a lower sheave 13 in a lower part of the hoistway 1.
