PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an anti-eccentric wearing performance while realizing a superior wet performance of a pneumatic tire. SOLUTION: A tread part 2 is provided with a rib-like part R having a block-like part B segmented by some vertical major sipes 10 and lateral sipes 11 shallower than the former. The block-like part B and bottom portions 11S of the lateral sipes 11 are formed with some closed type block sipes 13 and the lateral sipes 14. A depth (h1) of the block sipes 13 is 0.1 to 0.5 times of a sipe depth H of the vertical major sipes 10. A depth (h2) of the lateral sipes 14 is 0.3 to 0.9 times of the sipe depth H. Further, either the block sipe 13 or the lateral sipe 14 includes divided sipes 17 divided to have slits 16 in their longitudinal direction. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
