PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a pages missing and incorrect collating in finished book by a simple visual inspection from the outside, without turning pages 2, and to surely prevent the issue of an abnormal book. SOLUTION: Marks indicating individual signatures are put to the top edge 12 or the bottom edge 13 of a finished book so that they form specific figures and that the figures are presented outward in tiers. The marks 4 are so arranged that the presence or absence of the incorrect collating and the pages missing of the individual sections can be inspected visually in the finished book.
