<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote management system requiring not so much labor and cost for system development, operation and maintenance. <P>SOLUTION: A center system 1 comprises a LAN 10 connected to a broadband communication network 100, and a management server 2 connected to the LAN 10. The broadband communication network 100 is economical because no installation or the like is required when the network 100 employs a public telephone line. On the other hand, an image forming apparatus being a management object is used by being connected to a LAN 11 at a customer site 20.
