PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a tubular polyimide molded article for an intermediate transfer member of an electrophotographic apparatus, etc., to form a polyimide tube having good toner cleaning property and excellent mechanical durability. SOLUTION: The tubular polyimide molded article is produced by the atmospheric glow-plasma treatment of the outer surface of a tubular article containing a polyimide resin with a fluorine-containing compound, preferably a gaseous mixture of a fluorine-containing compound and an inert gas.
