PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dry type toner which can be stably controlled and maintained in triboelectrostatic chargeability, excels in conveyability, developability, transferability, and preservability and does not generate abnormal images, a developer containing such toner, an image forming method using such developer and an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The dry type toner mainly composed of at least a binder resin, colorant, a charge controlling agent, and external additive, is characterised in that the external additive is prepared by subjecting titanium oxide particulate of≥0.2wt% in the amount of a water soluble component manufacturing by a wet process to surface treatment.
