PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner capable of separating dust from suction air when air including dust is sucked therein and extending lifetime of an air cleaner element. SOLUTION: This invented air cleaner is provided with air cleaner housing 1A, 1B, an inlet 2 provided on a surface of the housing and sucking air from outside, an inlet passage 3 provided projectingly into the housing from the inlet 2, the air cleaner element 7 filtering air supplied from the inlet passage 3, and an outlet 6 discharging air purified by the element 7. The inlet passage 3 is blocked at a rear end thereof, and an opening part 4 for flowing air to the element 7 is provided at a predetermined position of the inlet passage 3.
