PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent foreign matter from flowing into an intake tank in a water intake facility with simple structure. SOLUTION: This water intake facility is provided with the intake tank 3 communicating with a water area 1 for water intake through an inflow pipe 2 and takes in water by an intake device 4 from the intake tank 3. In this constitution, basket-like strainers 8A, 8B capable of capturing the foreign matter 5 included in water flowing into the intake tank 3 from the water area 1 through the inflow pipe 2 are liftably provided in the intake tank 3, and the strainers 8A, 8B are pulled up onto the intake tank 3 to remove the captured matter.
