PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide proper relationship between elastic modulus and friction in a steering mechanism for preventing increase in a mechanical dead zone of the steering mechanism. SOLUTION: The elastic moduli of a torsion bar 23 and a rubber mount 94 included in the steering mechanism A are respectively made to be K1 and K2, and the allowable play amount in the torsion bar 23 and the rubber mount 94 is respectively made to be X1, X2. When friction between the torsion bar 23 and the rubber mount 94 is set as F1 and friction between the rubber mount 94 and a steering wheel 10 is set as F2, the expression (F1+F2)<(K1×X1)+(K2×X2) is satisfied.
