The actuator has a second part movable relative to a first part. The parts are designed for connection to the vehicle body or hood. A displacement part can move the second part from an initial to a deployed position. A trigger device unlocks a locking device, which fixes the second part to the first in the initial position, when operated. A restoring device with an elbow lever arrangement restores the actuator from the deployed to the initial position. The actuator has a first part (4), a second part (6) movable relative to and connected to the first part, whereby the first and second parts are designed for connection to the vehicle body or hood. A displacement part (16) between the first and second parts can move the second part relative to the first from an initial to a deployed position. A locking device (18) fixes the second part to the first in the initial position. A trigger device (20) is connected to the locking device to unlock it when operated. The actuator has a restoring device (72) with an elbow lever arrangement (25) for restoring the actuator from the deployed position to the initial position. An independent claim is also included for the following: (a) a motor vehicle with an inventive device.
