PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear movement device constituted to mesh with a worm only when the line shape of the machine constitution part of a machine tool or the like or the cross of linear movement is needed at a low cost. SOLUTION: The linear movement device 10 related to a worm includes a box type body 12 formed that the housing stool and the partial separation of the worm 14, and a moving means 52 temporarily meshed with at least one of grooves 54 of the worm are situated at an internal part.
