PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always perform suitable cooking with pressure regardlessly of the quantity of food material. SOLUTION: A high-pressure cylinder 13 filled with carbon dioxide is connected to a pressurization port 12 provided at the cooking container 3 of this pressure frier 1. A pressurization electromagnetic valve 14 and a check valve 15 are provided at a piping connecting the pressurization port 12 with the high-pressure cylinder 13. A safety valve 16 and a pressure sensor 17 are provided on a lid 7. Based on the pressure in the container 3 detected by the sensor 17, the controller 18 controls opening/closing of the safety valve 16 and the electromagnetic valve 14 to supply carbon dioxide into the container 3 to keep the pressure in the container 3 within a prescribed range.
