PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sintered friction material capable of improving dimensional stability and stability of coefficient of friction when temperature rises and improving resistance to heat and wear. SOLUTION: In this sintered friction material formed by sintering metallic powders, at least either of carbon nanofiber having an average diameter of 0.7 to 500 nm and an average length of 0.01 to 1,000μm and fullerene which is spherical shelllike carbon is arranged in the sintered friction material.
