The present invention disclosed a device and method by which a jet aircraft can be given vertical take off capability. A flight platform equipped with downwardly directed turbofans is provided. The exhaust of the jet engines of the aircraft are directed to power the turbofans of the platform to produce lift and raise the aircraft vertically to a height from which regular flight is possible.
