The oscillation damper (1) has a cylinder (3) containing a piston rod (5) which is displaced axially via a piston rod guide (7), a coil spring stop (13) within the cylinder effective over a defined piston rod displacement path. The cyliner has a reduced wall thickness (s) over a defined retaining region (15) for the coil spring stop, allowing it to be deformed for providing a retaining profile (23) for the latter when the piston rod reaches the stroke stop position.
