A sprung damper comprises an oil volume (3) in a hydraulic cylinder (2) with an input piston rod (4) which operates on a floating piston plate (7) after passing a throttle (5) and causes an underlying piston to compress the volume of the medium (10) in a silicon cylinder (9) to give the desired static springing rate.
