Thermostat valve has an elongated housing (12, 14) with an inlet, outlet and linking passage (24). Within the passage is a moving valve member (26) with a circumferential sealing surface (32). An expansion element (16) changes length with temperature thus moving the valve member against the force of a spring (30). The valve seat (28) has several sequential conical working surfaces so that as the valve member is forced out the rate of flow through the valve increases in a stepwise manner. |
