<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording medium enabling high-density recording, excelling in repetitive rewriting performance, and having little time-dependent degradation in crystallization sensitivity. <P>SOLUTION: The information recording medium is provided with at least a first protection layer (2), a first interface layer (3), a recording layer (4), a second interface layer (5), a second protection layer (6), an optical absorption correcting layer (7), and a reflective layer (8) on its substrate (11) in this order. Composition of the recording layer (4) is shown as the following general formula:[(Ge, Sn)<SB>A</SB>Sb<SB>2</SB>Te<SB>3+A</SB>]<SB>100-B</SB>M<SB>B</SB>(where: M is at least any one element selected out of Ag, Al, Cr, Mn and N). A and B in the above general formula range within 0<A≤10 and 0<B≤20, the first interface layer (3) and the second interface layer (5) contain at least one main component selected from among nitride, nitrogen oxides and carbide, respectively. Additionally refractive index of the optical absorption correcting layer (7) is 6.0 or less and 3.0 or more, and extinction coefficient is 4.0 or less and 1.0 or more. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
