<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eye image imaging device and an iris authentication device which are light, compact in size, low in cost and mountable on a portable terminal device. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging part 20 which picks up the eyes 1 of a person to be identified; a distance measuring part 2, which measures the distance between the imaging part 20 and the eyes 1 of the person to be authenticated; and an eye area setting part 37, which sets the inside of the frame of a prescribed range of an eye image picked up by the imaging part 20 as an eye area, are provided. The eye area setting part 37 sets the centers of the pupils in the eye image as the center of the eye area and also sets the horizontal width and vertical width of the eye area based on the measurements by the distance measuring part 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
