<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a code identifying method which hardly generates a code error even if a waveform deteriorates due to color dispersion, etc., of an optical fiber and brings about inter-code interference, and to provide a code identification circuit. <P>SOLUTION: An upper threshold, a center threshold and a lower threshold are determined. A first comparison result is obtained by comparing a signal to be identified with the center threshold. A second comparison result is obtained by comparing the signal to be identified with one of the upper threshold and the lower threshold. One of the first and second comparison results is selected as an identification result of the code of the signal to be identified in response to a switching signal based on the magnitude of the inter-code interference. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
