PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce disturbance of a screen generated at the time of switching from normal reproduction of VTR to a search screen. SOLUTION: This television receiver has an infrared sensor for detecting key operation of a remote controller, a CPU, and a resolution/frame rate converting means for converting the resolution or the frame rate of a screen.
