PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile information apparatus capable of facilitating entry settings by a user. SOLUTION: A mobile phone 1 is provided with: a CCD 20 for reading a two-dimensional bar code comprising encoded position (longitude, latitude) information; and a GPS receiver 102 for receiving a GPS signal to detect the current position. A control section 100 calculates a distance or an azimuth up to a position denoted from the position information on the basis of the current position and allows a display section 108 to display the distance or the azimuth.
