PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging control device that can precisely perform the control of a charge voltage and the detection of a charge current while suppressing heat production during charging, and provide a charging control method. SOLUTION: Since heat loss at an FET 105 becomes large when the charging control method is shifted from constant current charging control to constant voltage charging control without any modification, a charging control circuit 107 suppresses the heat loss at the FET 105 by restraining the charging current (charging current limited charging control) for a prescribed time after the termination of the constant current charging control. After a lapse of the prescribed time, the charging control circuit 107 shifts the charging current limited charging control to the constant voltage charging control. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
