PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording device which can suppress a capacity increase of a buffer memory necessary for switching of a resolution. SOLUTION: The device forms images by discharging ink droplets from an ink carriage 2 slidable in a main scanning direction to a paper 11 transferred in the vertical scanning direction. The device carries out multi-drop printing of expressing gradations of the images by changing an ink droplet number of a plurality of ink droplets for forming one dot, and at the same time can change a dot pitch. The device has a resolution switching part set at an image processing part, and an output buffer. The resolution switching part switches the dot pitch to small when the gradation becomes not smaller than a preliminarily set gradation level, and expresses the gradation by combining a change of a dot density at the dot pitch before switched, and a change of the ink droplet number for forming one one.
