摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strain distribution measuring instrument using an optical fiber that can remarkably improve the resolution of strain distribution measurement. SOLUTION: This strain distribution measuring instrument is constituted of the optical fiber 2 fitted to an object to be measured in a state where the fiber 2 is spirally wound around the z-axis of the object, a strain detecting device 4 which detects a strain distribution formed along the lengthwise direction of the optical fiber 2 by making light incident to the fiber 2 and detecting scattered light rays from the fiber 2, and so on.
