PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a serial interface circuit capable of flexibly dealing with a change in a data transfer system of a peripheral device. SOLUTION: An interface circuit 10 having a plurality of interface parts 11, 12, 13 with different serial data transfer systems is mounted on a semiconductor integrated circuit 1. The settings of a register 15 within the interface circuit 10 are varied according to externally input data to change the value of a setting signal S which is output from the register 15, to make only one of the plurality of interface parts 11, 12, 13 valid so as to change an interface transfer system.
