PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system of detecting the sign for a high-temperature error (E001) of an image forming apparatus before the occurrence of such error. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has a fixing device which is composed of a heat generating means and a temperature detecting means and a control means which performs control to deliver warning information to an external device by detecting warning when the temperature is higher than the generally predicted temperature even if the temperature is lower than the detection temperature of E001 at the timing of detecting E001 by the fixing device or when only the time shorter than the time necessary for detecting E001 is attained at the temperature for detecting E001.
