PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an image forming apparatus which applies a transfer bias under constant-current control, to exert transfer bias control without humidity information but with only temperature information. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus applies a transfer bias to an area between a transfer roller (3) and an image carrier (1) by a constant-current control means, thereby transferring an image to a transfer medium from an image carrier. In the image forming apparatus, a leak member (10) is disposed close to the transfer roller (3), thereby causing a current to leak from the transfer roller to the leak member.
