PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a child seat which can perform an impact absorbing action at the time of an accident of a vehicle or the like, and at the same time, for which a child seat body is formed into a light-weight and compact structure. SOLUTION: This child seat is fitted on a seat of the vehicle in a manner to face to the reverse direction from the advancing direction of the vehicle. A back part 35 of the child seat 31 is swingably connected with a seat part 34, and at the same time, impact absorbing mechanisms 39, 40 and 44 are provided on confronted surfaces with the seat part 34 and the back part 35 on side surfaces of the child seat. In this case, the impact absorbing mechanisms 39, 40 and 44 alleviate an impact force when the impact force to the rear surface side is applied to the child seat 31 from the front surface side of the child seat.
