PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the actuation of an inter-vehicle distance alarm device from giving uncomfortable feeling to a driver, even when the inter-vehicle distance alarm device is actuated based on communication by a portable telephone or the like. SOLUTION: The inter-vehicle distance alarm device comprises a notifying means (steps S11 to S14) for notifying a driver of a relation, when the relative positional relation between the own vehicle and the preceding vehicle becomes a specified relation, a communication state detection means (step S3) for detecting the communication state of a communication device in a cabin, and a timing change means (steps S4 to S10) for quickening the timing of the start of notification by the notification means within a specified time from the start of communication by the communication device, based on the detected result by the communication state detection means.
