PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steam iron the tank of which can be detached from an iron body with a single hand. SOLUTION: The movable part of the attaching/detaching mechanism 26 of a cassette tank 17 including a tank lock button 27 is provided on the side of the cassette tank 17. Thus, while the tank lock button 27 is kept pressed with one hand, the cassette tank 17 is pulled out of the iron body 1 by utilizing that hand. The movable part of the attaching/detaching mechanism 26 is provided on the rear part of the cassette tank 17. Consequently, even when a valve body for steam or the like is provided on the bottom part of the cassette tank 17, the movable part of the attaching/detaching mechanism 26 does not obstruct other mechanism parts.
