<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a display state a print result as it is when printing set state information and luminance information together with images. <P>SOLUTION: In steps S1 to S3, compressed image data read out from a recording medium are expanded and are stored in the DISPLAY area of a DRAM. In the case that the presence of Exif information and luminance information in image data is discriminated in steps S5 and S9, OSD (on-screen display) display data based on Exif information and luminance information are generated and are stored in the OSD area of the DRAM in steps S7 and S11. Superposing write processing of OSD display data and image data is executed for every pixel in a step S14, and superposed data are transmitted to a printer 3 and printing of the data is started in a step S15.
