<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new refractometer for ophthalmology which avoids the faults of well-known techniques, and a method for utilizing the refractometer for ophthalmology capable of simply attaining a very good measured result. <P>SOLUTION: In the refractometer for ophthalmology, an optometer system and an observation system are adjusted so as to be synchronized mutually relatively in relation to a prescribed reference position, and a refraction force parameter of the eye is specified from the difference between the adjusting position and the reference position at which the profile of a visual index is sharply projected on the retina at least partially. A digital image data of the visual index projected on the retina can be photographed by using a digital photographing device disposed in the observation system. The refraction force parameter is determined by digital image processing the image data obtained at the time of photographing by an image processing unit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
