<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery capable of keeping high heat resistance even in being overcharged by improving stability of a crystalline structure of a positive electrode active material. <P>SOLUTION: This manufacturing method of a positive electrode active material for this nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery has: (A) a process for preparing a material mixture containing nx mol of magnesium, ny mol of element M (M is at least one kind selected from a group comprising Al, Ti, Sr, Mn, Ni and Ca), n(1-x-y) mol of cobalt, and nz mol of lithium (0<n) so that x, y and z satisfy (a) 0.97≤(1/z)≤1, (b) 0.005≤x≤0.1, and (c) 0.001≤y≤0.03; and (B) a process for baking the material mixture in an oxidation atmosphere at a temperature of 1,000-1,100°C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
