<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection display device wherein the sticking of dust to the surface of a reflection type light valve is prevented. <P>SOLUTION: Upper and lower surfaces of a polarizing beam splitter 6 are interposed between polarizing beam splitter attaching parts 8j, 8k and are attached and fixed with adhesive. Subsequently, a light valve holder 8a integrated with a back surface cooling substrate member 7a to which the light valve 7 is attached and a polarizing beam splitter holder 8g to which the polarizing beam splitter 6 is attached are integrally fixed by soldering soldering parts 8b, 8h and 8c, 8i. Therein, a space between the light valve 7 and the polarizing beam splitter 6 is permitted to be a dust-proofing space by the use of a first dust-proofing sheet 8d, an auxiliary member 8e, and a second dust-proofing sheet 8f. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
