<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pigment dispersant which is excellent in fluidity and dispersion stability when used in a printing ink or a paint and glossiness when a dried film is prepared. <P>SOLUTION: The pigment dispersant is represented by formula 1 (wherein, X<SB>1</SB>is -NH-, -O-, -CONH-, -SO<SB>2</SB>NH-, -CH<SB>2</SB>NH-, -CH<SB>2</SB>NHCOCH<SB>2</SB>NH- or -X<SB>3</SB>-Y-X<SB>4</SB>-; X<SB>2</SB>and X<SB>4</SB>are each -NH- or -O-; X<SB>3</SB>is -CONH-, -SO<SB>2</SB>NH-, -CH<SB>2</SB>NH-, -NHCO- or -NHSO<SB>2</SB>-; Y is an alkylene, alkenylene or arylene group; Z is -SO<SB>3</SB>M or -COOM; R<SB>1</SB>is a heterocyclic residue or an aromatic ring residue; Q is -O-R<SB>2</SB>, -NH-R<SB>2</SB>, halogen, -X<SB>1</SB>-R<SB>1</SB>or -X<SB>2</SB>-Y-Z; R<SB>2</SB>is H, an alkyl or alkenyl group; and M denotes one equivalent of a monovalent-trivalent cation). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
