<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structure the surfaces of which are as large as possible, in the honeycomb structure formed by bending strip-like metal sheets in the thickness direction thereof to form an undulating shape. <P>SOLUTION: The strip-like metal sheets are bent in the thickness direction thereof to form undulated elements and these elements are brought into contact with each other at bent parts substantially only by line contact as compared with the lengths of the elements.
