<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance display quality by reducing display unevenness generated by the influence of gap between pixel electrodes due to mechanical impact. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display is provided with an array substrate 101 comprising a plurality of pixel electrodes 151, a counter substrate comprising a counter electrode opposed to the pixel electrodes 151, a liquid crystal layer which is interposed between the substrates and wherein the arrangement of liquid crystal molecules is controlled by voltage between the pixel electrodes 151 and the counter electrode and a tilt controlling part disposed on the array substrate for forming fluctuation of an electric field regulating the alignment direction of the liquid crystal molecules and dividing a pixel region between the pixel electrodes 151 and the counter electrode into a plurality of domains wherein the tilt directions of the liquid crystal molecules are different from each other. The array substrate 101 comprises light shielding wiring parts X and 152 disposed covering the gaps between a plurality of the pixel electrodes 151 and insulating projecting parts 4 disposed so as to enclose pixel display regions corresponding to the parts of the pixel electrodes 151 which is not shielded by the light shielding wiring parts X and 152. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
