<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an original plate for a planographic printing plate having a photosensitive layer of a thermosensitive type which is excellent in photosensitivity, printing durability and resistance to clinging of ink to a non-image portion in printing. <P>SOLUTION: The original plate for the planographic printing plate is provided with, on an aluminum support, the thermosensitive layer which contains an IR absorptive dye and water-insoluble and alkaline-soluble resin and undergoes a change in the solubility to an aqueous alkaline solution by heating.
