PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a driver to easily set a required inter-vehicle distance. SOLUTION: The inter-vehicle distance control device stops inter-vehicle distance control when an accelerator sensor detects starting of an accelerator operation. The inter-vehicle distance control device restarts the inter-vehicle distance control when the accelerator sensor detects finishing of the accelerator operation (a step 5).
