PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing nanoparticles capable of forming monodispersive nanoparticles having substantially even particle size and composition at a low cost, and also capable of arbitrarily adjusting the particle size and the composition. SOLUTION: A method of producing nanoparticles comprises a particle precursor trapping step in which liquid containing the particle precursor is added into the liquid containing a dendritic branched molecule (however, excepting a sector dendritic branched molecule) and the dendritic branched molecule is made to trap the particle precursor, and a particle forming step in which the particle precursor trapped by the dendritic branched molecule is converted into a particle. It is preferable that the dendritic branched molecule has at least one aspect selected from dendrimers and hyper-branch polymer. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
