PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water absorption material having excellent water absorbing quantity, wet touch and reusability, and having good deodorizing performance and durability, and diapers using it. SOLUTION: This water absorption material is a textile form water absorption material having deodorizing performance. The textile form water absorption material is characterized in that the void volume per 100 cm<SP>2</SP>of the absorption material is 10 cc or more, the thickness ranges from 1 mm to 20 mm, the main fibers constituting the textile form water absorption material are synthetic fibers, the single fiber finess of which ranges from 0.01 to 2 dtex.
