<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon monoxide reduction apparatus capable of consuming carbon monoxide sufficiently while suppressing the consumption of energy. <P>SOLUTION: The carbon monoxide reduction apparatus is provided with a catalyst support 1 through which a gaseous mixture of CO with an oxidizing agent (air) for oxidizing CO is passed to remove CO in the gaseous mixture and a cooling medium layer 2 which is a flow passage of a cooling medium for exchanging the heat of reaction produced by the catalyst support 1 with the catalyst support 1, a separation membrane part 3 for selectively separating gaseous hydrogen contained in the gaseous mixture and a hydrogen flow passage 4 for passing the separated gaseous hydrogen. The catalyst support 1 is kept at a CO removing optimum temperature by forming the hydrogen flow passage 4 to be held between the catalyst support 1 and the cooling medium layer 2 to transfer the heat of the oxidation reaction of CO to the cooling medium through the hydrogen flow passage 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
