<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochemical device and its manufacturing method using a solid polymer film and capable of improving energy efficiency and current density. <P>SOLUTION: This electrochemical device for a fuel cell etc. has a laminate structure 5 of a first electrode 2, a second electrode 3 and a ion conductive solid polymer film 4 sandwiched between the electrodes 2, 3. A non-sandwiched region 6 of the solid polymer film 4 which is not sandwiched by the electrodes 2, 3 contains calcium or/and magnesium in the solid polymer film 4.
