<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic musical instrument capable of temporarily changing and reproducing the reproduced tempo of phrase in response to the operations of an operator and reproducing the phrase (audio waveforms) at a set tempo. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic musical instrument calculates a readout position (phase information SP) of waveform data, concerning the audio waveform from an operation amount dθand an advance amount Δpa of the operator so as to be reproduced at the reproduced tempo, modified temporarily by the operation of the operator (S52-S57), when the operation is performed on the operator (S51: "Yes"), and sets as the readout position (reproduction position PP) of the waveform data concerning the audio waveform, when reproducing the phase information ST at the set reproduction tempo (S58), when the operation is not performed on the operator (S51: "No").
