PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tubular or cylindrical decorative body which has the outstanding durability of sliced veneers wound around and laminated on a tubular or a cylindrical resin base and especially the successful durability and beautiful appearance of a joint between the end parts and is used for illumination. SOLUTION: This tubular or cylindrical decorative body 10 is structured of a backing sheet 4 of the sliced veneer wound around and bonded to the entire outer peripheral surface of a tubular or cylindrical transparent resin 5 with the help of a first adhesive 3A showing pliability after curing. In addition, in the joint where one end and the other end of the backing sheet 4 wound around and bonded to the peripheral surface, are opposed to each other, the gap between both ends is filled with a second adhesive 3B having a higher adhesive performance than the first adhesive 3A and a tape 4' is bonded covering the filled gap.
