PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long-life and high dielectric strength aluminum electrolytic capacitor by solving a problem that a short circuit is caused in a hot environment. SOLUTION: The aluminum electrolytic capacitor comprises a capacitor element 1 which has been formed by winding an anode foil and a cathode foil connected to the leads 2, 3 for external connection through provision of a separator and then impregnating these foils with the electrolyte, a metal case 6 accommodating such capacitor element 1, and a sealing plate 5 for sealing an aperture of the metal case. Moreover, the capacitor also includes a polymer comprising an acrylic derivative having phosphoric functional group within the separator, a first monomer of the acrylic derivative consisting of at least one monomer among a group of single functional monomers having hydroxyl group and one polymeric unsaturated double-coupling at the end thereof, and a second monomer of the acrylic derivative consisting of at least one monomer among the group of multiple functional monomers having a plurality of polymeric unsaturated double-coupling.
